Walt graduated cum laude from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1994. He moved to Springfield in 1997 and joined Ameriprise. While building a private practice, he also earned his CFP and ChFC. In 2005 he sold his practice and took his talents to US Bancorp where he spent the next 16 years helping his clients build wealth. Walt joined OakStar in 2022 in an effort to increase the level of service and personal attention that he could provide to his clients. He is now able to focus on serving high net worth households and organizations.
When Walt isn’t working, he’s long distance backpacking his wife Jennifer. They’ve hiked the 211-mile John Muir Trail three times. Occasionally one of their four children come out for the adventure. Walt is looking forward to a time soon when his four grandchildren can join in the tradition.
